Staff Reviews
Amanda Foody’s Wilderlore world is back and possibly better than ever. Barclay and friends have hit their teens and the accompanying angst is real and relatable while avoiding the common pitfall of whininess and remaining accessible for middle grade readers. Foody’s compassion for her young protagonist is palpable; Barclay’s battle with his own anxiety, his struggle to trust himself, is perfectly on point, and she takes equal care with the moments of sweetness and humor. It is a story of family and friendship, of the complexity of being human, and of the importance of always carrying spare Nutri-Cubes.
Young readers are incredibly lucky to get to grow up with Barclay Thorne. As Runa points out, his enthusiasm, curiosity, and heart are inspiring to behold; encouraging those around him to be their bravest, kindest selves. This series is a phenomenal family read, not only for the riveting adventure but because of the brilliant cast of characters. This is a world where everyone can see themselves, where they can get swept away in fantastical adventure, and where they will always want to return.

Barclay and his friends race to find a legendary beast in the Wilderlands before their enemy in this action-packed fourth book in the New York Times bestselling Wilderlore series.
As the election for Grand Keeper looms closer, the villainous Audrian Keyes returns. And so a team of specialized Lore Keepers must undertake a desperate mission: find her first, no matter the cost.
But the uncharted regions of the Tundra hold countless dangers, from the monstrous Beasts to the brutal cold, yet far more chilling mysteries await them out on the ice caps. Like why Navrashtya went missing in the first place. Or the truth behind this strange Lore that only Barclay can feel, whose power might very well save the mission—or doom it.
