John Walsh, a Physician Assistant, has provided clinical care to people with diabetes for over 40 years in private practice, HMO, and university settings. He has worn most insulin pumps and cared for hundreds of people on pumps, CGMs, and AID systems. He has presented diabetes topics to physicians, health professionals, diabetes educators, and people with diabetes, including the ADA, CDA, Children with Diabetes, and pump support groups. An author and coauthor of dozens of diabetes articles, abstracts, books, and booklets, he has taken part in advances for insulin pumps, smart pens, bolus calculators, and infusion sets as a consultant and board member. He is currently a Diabetes Clinical Specialist at Advanced Metabolic Care & Research in Escondido, CA. Ruth Roberts, M.A., CEO of Diabetes Services, Inc, Diabetes Mall, and Torrey Pines Press, is a widely read medical writer and editor. In addition, she has served as a corporate training administrator, technical writer, and instructional designer for 35 years in San Diego. A coauthor of many books and articles on diabetes, she has taught collegelevel composition, English, and writing for 10 years and currently writes historical novels.
